Safety

All Access is now a member of the Entertainment and Events Safety Committee established in 2017.

It has been a very busy year in 2018 and we have quietly been chipping away at some of the key initiative from our last meeting in March at BEC.

We decided that the State by State approach was consistent with current legislation in Australia and that State Chapters were the best way to move forward. We will still look for common approach across states to maintain consistency in Australian approach to safety.

Currently the Qld work group will continue to work and we are proud to announce the following:

NSW work group will meet courtesy of the SCG and include Linda Reich (SCGT), Sue Burnet (SOH), Michael Kent(MK Productions) and Jon Corbishley. We are keen to on board others CORE Group members in NSW

VIC work group will meet courtesy of the MCEC and include Sharon Friedman(MCEC), Tiny Good(Showtech Australia), Paul McCarthy(PBM Safety). We are keen to on board others CORE Group members in VIC

SA work group we are yet to determine a Venue but will consist of Simon Duncan (Duncan Events), Dr Steve Brown(Visible Management))

WA work group we are working with EIA(WA) to try and establish a work group of local WA and sourcing a venue to hopefully sponsor the meetings.

The focus initially will be on rigging and high risk works and feeding back into the international forum for standardising rigging procedures. We also are looking into site specific safety management for projects that have international content and satisfy the WHS/OHS regulations requirements of values $350,000 (in VIC) and $250,000(Other States).

We have also sort participation from industry associations including Live Performance Australia, Venue Management Association, Meetings Events Australia and similar to get there support in being able to advocate to the industry.

Please feel free to nominate to be added to CORE Groups and we are also open to suggestions for work forum subjects to work on in the future. Please email us with the State CORE Group that you want to join as we are aiming to start CORE Group meetings in late Feb/Early March 2019
